SCU Attend World Power Battery Conference 2024

On September 1, 2024, the 2024 World Power Battery Conference was grandly opened in Yibin, Sichuan Province, China. SCU was invited to participate. Chairman Chen Jisheng and Deputy General Manager Liu Yafeng attended the conference on behalf of the company and participated in a series of activities such as the special meeting on the development of the new energy storage industry.

Chen Jisheng said that with the accelerated advancement of global energy transformation and the large-scale grid connection demand for renewable energy, energy storage technology, as a key link in balancing electricity supply and demand and improving energy utilization efficiency, is becoming increasingly important. Whether from the macro-strategy of responding to climate change and achieving carbon neutrality goals or from the actual needs of meeting the stability of daily power supply and improving the flexibility of the power grid, the energy storage industry has ushered in a golden period of development.

In terms of the application of energy storage technology, diversification, efficiency and intelligence are the main trends of future development. As the main method of large-scale energy storage, traditional pumped storage still has a solid position, but electrochemical energy storage is rapidly rising and widely used in distributed energy systems, microgrids, data centers, electric vehicle charging stations and other fields due to its advantages such as strong flexibility, short construction period and fast response speed. In particular, the continuous advancement of lithium-ion battery technology, cost reduction, cycle life extension and safety improvement have laid a solid foundation for the widespread promotion of energy storage applications.

Chen Jisheng pointed out that liquid cooling technology, as an innovative solution in the field of thermal management of energy storage systems, is gradually becoming the focus of industry attention. Immersion liquid cooling technology effectively solves the heat dissipation problem of battery packs during high-power charging and discharging by directly immersing energy storage batteries in high-thermal conductivity and low-viscosity coolants, which not only greatly improves the safety performance and operating efficiency of energy storage systems, but also extends the service life of batteries. The application of immersion liquid cooling technology will help energy storage systems develop in the direction of higher energy density, larger capacity, and faster response speed, and provide important technical support for the commercialization and large-scale application of energy storage systems.
