With the popularity of electric vehicles, a Dutch company hopes to configure high-power EV chargers for its own sites to meet the fast charging needs of internal vehicles. However, due to the limited capacity of the site’s mains electricity, it is impossible to support the operation of a high-power EV charger directly, and the traditional power supply solution can no longer meet the growing charging needs.
Background
The company plans to install an EV charger to support the company’s internal vehicles. Since the mains power distribution power is only 50kW, it is difficult to support high-power charging needs by relying solely on the mains, so it is decided to adopt an integrated battery energy storage + EV charging solution to achieve dynamic capacity expansion and provide stable power support for EV chargers.

Battery Energy Storage + EV Charging Solution – Breaking the Limitations of the Grid
SCU customized an integrated energy storage and charging system for customers. The energy storage system uses GRES, equipped with 225kWh batteries and 150kW PCS, and seamlessly connects with the 150kW CCS2 fast charger. The SCU energy storage system can achieve rapid dynamic capacity expansion. When the mains power cannot meet the charging needs, the energy storage system completes the response from standby to discharge within 1s, providing additional power support to ensure the stable operation of the EV charger.
Core advantages
Dynamic capacity expansion:
No grid transformation required: Solve the traditional capacity expansion dilemma of difficult approval and high cost;
- When the power demand of the EV charger exceeds the 50kW limit of the mains capacity, the energy storage automatically supplements the mains gap (mains 50kW + energy storage 100kW = total output 150kW), ensuring that the EV charger can still supply power stably during peak hours and extreme load conditions;
- When the charging demand is low, the mains and energy storage systems work together to achieve intelligent allocation.
Peak shaving
Energy storage is charged during the valley power period at night and discharged during the peak period during the day to reduce electricity costs.
Intelligent load distribution
When charging with two guns, the power is dynamically allocated (such as gun A: 130kW, gun B: 20kW), giving priority to high-priority vehicles.

Customer Testimonial
“SCU’s energy storage system has stimulated the potential of 150kW from the old 50kW power grid, so that electric vehicles no longer have to wait for charging. There are few companies on the market that are as professional as SCU and can provide one-stop solutions for energy storage systems and EV chargers at the same time.”
